Open and Close Procedures
1.0 Centre Opening
The key is located in the key safe attached to the back door of the centre. The back door is located at the rear of the car park.
The combination for the key safe is 0156. Please open the door to the centre and immediately replace the key in the key safe. Please enter and exit via the FRONT DOOR. The back door is to be used for emergency exit only and is not to be accessed in any other circumstances.
1.1 Lights and Air Conditioning
Lights and air conditioning controls can be found on the centre wall of the studio for Merkaba and behind the reception wall for Merkaba Studio
Air conditioning
Use the on button to turn on the heating/air conditioning and adjust the temperature as required. Temperature should not be turned up above 22 degrees.
Lights
Dimmable’s and LED lights are available in both spaces. To turn on the dimmable lights, push the dimmable dial in and adjust as needed. To turn the dimmable’s off, push the dial gain and the light will turn off.
Please ensure all lights and air conditioning are turned off before you leave the centre.
1.2 Wifi
Wifi is available in the centre. The modem is located above the fridge.

1.3 SONOS Speaker System
There are SONOS speakers located in each room and four located in Merkaba studio. The main
studio has two and there are referred to as Merkaba 1 and the secondary section of Merkaba are referred to as Merkaba 2. To enable the speakers:
1. Connect to Merkaba Studio wifi
2. Download the SONOS app (brown square with black SONOS typeface)
3. Password is: Merkabacollective15
4. SONOS will automatically connect to all speakers in the centre.
5. Choose the appropriate speaker/s for use.
Please note – not all platforms are supported by SONOS. SONOS will work with: Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, Deezer, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Google Play Music and YouTube Music. Please ensure you have organised your playlist in one of these platforms.
1.4 Bose Speaker System and Microphone
If you have hired the Merkaba Speaker system and microphone, it will be available for you in the room you have hired on arrival. Please ensure that the speakers and the microphone are returned to
their boxes at the completion of the event and only the organisers use these items. Please use these items carefully as they are prone to damage.
1.5 Kitchen Items
Merkaba is equipped with an urn, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, plenty of cups, cutlery, plates and tea pots that are available for your use.
Pleasure ensure all items used in the kitchen are washed and put away after use and the kitchen is left clean and tidy. This includes wiping down benches and putting the rubbish in the garbage bin
located at the rear of the car park before leaving for the evening, no matter how full or empty the bin is.
1.6 Yoga Equipment
There are mats, bolsters, eye pillows, sacral pillows, small head pillows and blankets available for your use in the centre. Please ensure all equipment is placed back where you found it prior to leaving. If you are using eye pillows, please ensure a tissue is used to cover the eye pillow during use, to protect the fabric. There are plenty of boxes of tissues throughout the centre.
Please return all items to their original position, as shown in the images below:
Bolsters
Bolsters are to be stacked neatly horizontally in the bolster shelf. Additional bolsters are to be placed in a neat arrangement vertically against the bolster shelf.
Padded Mats and Pillows
Place a maximum of 3 padded mats per section. Additional padded mats can be stacked neatly on top of the shelf on the right-hand side. Stack pillows in two or three neat piles on top of the shelf as pictured.
Eye and Sacral Pillows
Remove eye pillow covers from each eye pillow and place in the “USED” tray. Place all eye pillows in the wicker or black baskets to the right of the “CLEAN” and “USED” trays. Stack sacral pillows neatly in the pigeon holes below the eye pillows.
Yoga Mats and Chairs
Roll and stack yoga mats vertically inside and against the shelving. Stack all chairs neatly and vertically against the back wall as shown.
1.7 Unhired Rooms
If other rooms you have not hired are vacant on your arrival, please respect the space and refrain from entering these rooms.
1.8 Lighting of Candles or any naked flames
For the safety and comfort of everyone, we kindly ask that no candles, sage, Palo Santo, or any other items requiring an open flame be used inside the space, as this poses a fire hazard. If you would like to cleanse your participants as they arrive, please do so outside the front doors, ensuring the doors remain closed.
To maintain the integrity of our space, we do have a strict policy regarding the use of naked flames and smoke-based cleansing items indoors. If these guidelines are not followed, we will not be able to accommodate future events at Merkaba. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping this a safe and welcoming space for all.
1.9 Reception and Entry by Guests
Please ask your guests to remove their shoes upon entry into Merkaba Studio. There are seats in reception where shoes can be left and pigeon holes just past reception for handbags, shoes and other items. Merkaba is a shoe free zone and we would appreciate your assistance with this.
If you turn on the water feature, lights or any other items in reception, please turn them off when preparing to leave the centre.
2.0 Centre Closing
At the completion of your event, please request that your guests leave quietly if it is after 9pm to respect the neighbours.
2.1 Kitchen
Please ensure any kitchen equipment is cleaned and returned to the position you found it. If you have used the urn, please unplug it and empty it before storing it away. Please wash all dishes, dry
them and return them to their storage position.
2.2 Floors
All floors are to be vacuumed and then wiped down using the floor mop and bucket in the kitchen. There is solution under the sink. This is to ensure the space is ready for the next group. Any spills should be wiped up immediately.
Please turn on main lights to check that floor is free from an debris as this can be hard to see if only using the dimmable switches.
2.3 Closing Centre
Move through the space, turning off all lights, air conditioning and power points as you move through, please ensure the kitchen is left clean and the bathrooms are tidy, bins are empties and the water in the dispenser is refilled from the kitchen tap. Please lock glass front doors and check they are locked before returning the key to key lock box.
Place all rubbish in the bin and drive home safely.

3.0 Emergency Procedures
3.1 Fire
Please review the fire plan, located on the pin board in the kitchen prior to your event, so you understand where the exits are and the fire marshalling location (in the car park across the road from Merkaba Studio). In the event of a fire, please call 000 immediately.
3.2 Medical Emergency
A first aid kit is located above the fridge for all minor injuries. If a serious injury has occurred, please call 000 and review the medical emergency sign located on the pinboard in the kitchen.
3.3 Evacuation
If you have any concerns about the health and safety of your guests, please exit the centre and call 000.
